About this deal

Currently, QKZ specializes in hybrid technology, balanced armature, zinc alloy earphones, CNC metal earphones, and Bluetooth v4. The close to 10 db raise in the lower tail brought nothing but joy during the replay of tracks like “Why So Serious? Its V-shaped sound signature makes it more of a pleasure listening pair than neutrally tuned IEMs, unlike the 7Hz Zero, which other people might prefer. Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite Now Available In Three New Color Options Earlier this year, Kiwi Ears treated us with the.

With the new Khan, QKZ and HBB both aim to put out a set of IEMs offering a balanced tonality while still providing ample amounts of clean bass too. There is a slight roll-off in the early treble, to burst into a little double sparkle at 9kHz and 14khz.I can honestly say there are incremental upgrades in fidelity and overall dynamics with power and improved devices with better internals. I liked the concept of the Khan, with its dedicated low end driver and its tame manners in the higher frequency. The face plates themselves use a "dragon scale" motif with the QKZ and HBB logos in gold on the two sides. It’s an iem that I’d normally use for a busier or orchestra-oriented playlist, or whenever I feel like doing an analytical listening session.

The MOONDROP Droplet is an interesting set that goes the DSP route with its fixed cable and a Type-C connector while offering one of the most comfortable shells on the market. HBB's tuning brings out the best from this in-ear monitor, delivering impactful bass, soothing vocals, and crystal-clear highs.

It has a V-shaped sound signature, packing a hefty amount of bass, but also has some smooth glide on the mid frequencies making it a fun listening pair of IEMs. I find myself listening to all my music as if truely hearing it for the 1st time, with all sorts of surprises throughout the recordings… if this sound is as bad as some reviewers have made it out to be… then ignorance truely is bliss.

Installing the cable is simple enough with the pre-molded ear hooks that go over the ears and L/R indicators helping identify what goes where.

However, I found the unboxing experience to be lackluster and the included accessories, including the eartips, to be of low quality. It has been manufactured in 4th generation DLP-3D, to create a lightweight, ergonomic, semi-custom design, with an outer panel carved like dragon scales and coated in resin. QKZ being bass-forward, 7Hz Zero is on the balanced side having a better extension on the upper mids and treble.

These IEMs were built using high-quality drivers and materials and tuned to deliver a well-balanced sound signature.Cymbals have a nice “chisk” to them and trail off with enough volume while not sounding weird to me. But the BA driver results in a less punchy bass and I also felt an overly dampened treble response that took away from the seemingly smooth tuning here. Funk– The QKZ x HBB’s boomy bass worked well on tracks with real bass instruments, such as Dean Town and Them Changes. The imaging chops are actually not that claustrophobic, as seen on other more expensive offerings – yes, I’m looking at you Performer 5 – and the resolving power is actually above average given its tuning and competition.
